This question came from Dale who asked exactly this: how do you play notes that have dots and slurs over them.
It's called mezzo staccato, and in this short lesson, I demonstrate exactly how to play a passage of mezzo staccato notes.
I remember learning tiny new techniques from world class teachers which just exploded (in a good way!) my playing.
Add all these little techniques up and wow - it sure beats years and years of being told "just practice more" by my teachers.
The secret is that it's not really a secret! It's just proper technique.
And I love that I can make a big impact to flutist's playing, happiness and life, just by clearly demonstrating these techniques I've learned over the eyars.
And if you like what you watch, remember to add your name to the list below to get more of these free flute teaching gems.
Adding your name below will not only get you more of these "quick fixes through proper technique", but will also let me know that people (just like you!) are interested in becoming more awesome at the flute.
Which means I'll go ahead and create a flute course which will solve pretty much every flute issue you've got! Imagine that!
